By 1990 I owned four large antique stores and was showing antiques all over the Pacific Northwest. In fact, I had the highest volume of antique furniture sales in the Western United States. During this time people kept asking me to finish furniture for them on the side, so I started adding customer jobs to the antique restoration work. Starting in about 1995 customers started asking me to refinish their kitchen cabinets, so I did. Soon I moved out of the garage and into my own shop. After perfecting my skills for 10 years, I decided I could teach somebody else how to refinish too, so I hired my first employee.
